What is it that you're currently reading, listening to, watching, etc.?
If they saw us the likely hood of us getting away was slim to know, and they didn’t look like their hearts would be softened towards to young girls.
My hope was long lasting, when the last soldier turned his eyes slightly and saw us. I snapped my mouth shut, swallowing hard. The soldier stepped out towards us, a spark of anger in his eyes, anger that was unexplainable, to me.
“What are you two doing here?” He snapped at us.
I blinked quickly trying to think of something to say.
“W-we are taking a break. We are k-kitchen maids.” Anna stammered quietly.
I nodded my head in agreement, hoping I look more innocent than I felt.
The man glared at us, after a quiet glance at the rest of the soldiers that were disappearing around the corner of the building.
“I don’t believe you, but you listen to this. I will be watching you two. And if I see either one of you doing anything you shouldn’t I will tell, Lady Patricia.” He snarled. Then looking to where the soldiers had disappeared, he gave us one last glance before he ran off to catch up with them.
