10 Entrepreneur Quotes to Motivate and Inspire Writers

Pin This!

I've always been inspired by success stories from famous entrepreneurs--Jobs, Disney, Hershey, George Washington Carver, etc. It's amazing how these men had a passion, a dream, and were determined to press forward, despite the obstacles.

Aspiring authors can learn a lot from successful entrepreneurs. Just as the path toward launching a business is not an easy route, the path toward publication is often long and filled with discouragement. As we strive to achieve our dreams, let's learn to mimic the traits that successful entrepreneurs possessed, such as ... ambition. Drive. Passion. Perseverance. Discipline. And patience.

I've gathered entrepreneur quotes that will hopefully inspire and motivate you to develop these very traits. If there's one in particular that inspires you, I recommend writing it down on a sticky note at your computer; that way, you'll have a constant reminder to keep going.

Here are 10 entrepreneur quotes to motivate and inspire writers:

“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.”
Steve Jobs

“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark.”
Michelangelo

"Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant."
Robert Louis Stevenson

“Done is better than perfect.”
Sheryl Sandberg

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
Albert Einstein

"If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced."
Vincent Van Gogh

“The price of inaction is far greater than then cost of a mistake.”
Meg Whitman

“Waiting for perfect is never as smart as making progress.”
Seth Godin

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them."
Walt Disney

Breaking the Chains: Hoping For a Happy Ending

Writing a book is therapeutic for me. I find enjoyment through weaving together the tough aspects of life into a story that brings meaning to these hardships. A story that wraps up in a satisfying, happy ending.
Because this is what we yearn for in life, isn’t it? We long for hope in the midst of tragic circumstances. We yearn for meaning in the midst of pain. A reminder that, despite how our “story” might look at the moment, it will turn out all right in the end.
In my YA novel, Purple Moon, Selena grew up in a Christian home. She grew up believing in Jesus and that He had the perfect “fairy tale life” planned for her. But as she grew older, this hope began to diminish. {Continue reading}

Capture a Vision, Create a Plan, & Pursue Your Dreams Today! {Free Download}

Pin it!
I have always been an ambitious person. When people asked me as a teenager what I wanted to do after college, I could list about five different things, possibly more. (Of course, being an author was always at the top of my list!)

Maybe that's why I felt such a drive to pursue writing as a teenager. Since there are so many things I want to achieve in my life, why wouldn't I have wanted to get a head-start?

I don't think enough teenagers realize just how much potential they have. In high school, you have four years to discover your passions, four years to grow in your craft and to pursue your dreams. And yet so many teens don't take this time to their advantage. They assume that they can live on a day-by-day basis, waiting until they are an adult before taking life seriously.

If you are a teenager, you can be wiser than that. You can tap into your potential. You can jumpstart your career and begin to pursue your dreams today.

Do you know how much pressure would be taken off of you in the future if you did start today? You wouldn't have to worry so much about career options once you're in college. You would already have a pretty clear idea of what you want to do.

But the only way you can begin is by first capturing a vision, then creating a plan that will help you reach your goals.

The possibilities of what you could achieve in your lifetime--starting today--are endless.
However, pursuing your dreams can be a bit overwhelming ... especially if you don't even know what you want to pursue.
That is why I am offering this free download.

This 7-page download will help you:
  • Discover your passions and talents
  • Choose a career that is suitable for you
  • Capture a vision
  • Create a plan
  • Set goals
  • Break down the process so your dream is achievable
  • Stay motivated, inspired, and focused
You don't have to be the same as others your age. You don't have to wait until you are in college before you wonder what you want to do for the rest of your life.

If you begin to plant your dreams during your teen years, you will notice a harvest much sooner in life than most people.

However, you can't just give up if you don't see immediate results. You need to continue watering those seeds day-by-day, allowing them to grow, and having faith that one day you will reap the benefits.
There is nothing wrong with dreaming, especially if you're a young person.
But there will come a time when you need to wake up long enough to pursue those dreams.
If you are interested in beginning today, print out these pages. I recommend that you keep them in a binder and refer to them any time you may feel tempted to give up, any time you are not inspired, or any time you just need a fresh reminder of your vision.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. I will be happy to assist you in any way that I can! =)

How to Stay Motivated: Setting Goals & Finding Inspiration {+Giveaway Winner!}

I have always found it difficult to stay motivated in the spring and summer. The cold seasons tend to give me an excuse to stay indoors, put on the fireplace and a pot of coffee, and get to work--but once spring rolls around, all I want to do is go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. =)

If you're like me, then you may want to check out this video I filmed with my sister recently. Watch below to discover our secrets on how we stay motivated, set goals, find inspiration, and more!
