I need your help in deciding which cover to choose for PURPLE MOON, my YA Christian fiction novel which releases September 24, 2013 through Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas.
Selena’s life isn’t turning out to be the fairy tale she imagined as a kid. That hope seemed to vanish long ago when her dad—a preacher—kicked her and her mom out of the house. This summer might finally hold the chance of a new beginning for Selena… but having to live with her snobby cousin in Lake Lure, NC while waiting for her mom to get out of rehab wasn’t how Selena was planning on spending her summer. She soon begins to wonder why she committed to give up her “bad habits” for this.
Which one grabs your attention the most? Please let me know! Thanks!
Definitely like option "B," Tessa. :)
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!
B. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteB!
ReplyDeleteA is my preference because it suggests uncertainty and makes me curious.
ReplyDeleteB is also beautiful, classy, and the character looks dreamy and content.
I'm a fan of A!

I like A. Isn't this a book for teens? B is beautiful, but the character looks 28. Isn't Selena a teen? I also think A evokes more emotion. She looks a little troubled, and the cover makes me want to read the book to find out why she is troubled. I do agree w/ Butterfly that B looks dreamy and content. Is Selena content throughout most of the book? Just wondering. Still like A more.
ReplyDeleteI prefer B. It is much more classic and to me suggests more stable, wholesome content.
ReplyDeleteI like A because it encapsulates being a teenager I think.

ReplyDeleteI CHOOSE BOOK A!!!!!! Absolutely no question about it!!! First of all, the way the photographer captured a partial picture of this teenager makes the cover of the book look very cutting-edge.
ReplyDeleteMost of all, the picture on Book A looks mystique, like a teenager questioning her identity and purpose in life. The purple hue gives the book an aura of suspense. It makes it look mystifying, drawing me in and making me want to find out what’s going to happen in the book. Overall, I believe all teenagers could identify with the picture on the cover of Book A and would be MUCH more enticed to pick it up and read it!!!
Picture B looks WAY TOO OLD to even appeal to a teenager!!! Her face is smug and her make-up is pristine-perfect, not appealing to today’s average teenager, I'm sure. Her gaze upwards, even the position of her hands, seem as if she's an aspiring to a vision or a goal she may want to attain...not at all indicative of the twisted plot or drama that may be lurking in a book like Purple Moon.
DEFINITELY BOOK A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like A. But the font of B... awesome as covers mate! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteI like Book A. It just looks like it's more interesting and something I am in to. It seems suspenseful and makes me want to read it.

BOOK A!!!!!! The girl looks youthful and i think that it would really catch peoples eye. It grabs your attention and makes you want to know more!!! Congratulations!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely A. Looks more youthful and mysterious. It is more youthful. B looks too old. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteWow this was a hard choice. They're both quite nice but I will have to go with A!!! It just holds emotion and I like how the girl on the cover looks uncertain. B is also nice but I would more likely use it for a sequel. The girl on the cover seems a bit too "everything is perfect" for a first book (especially having read the back-cover). In brief, I would go with A!! But if there's a sequel B could be good.
ReplyDeleteIt all seems quite exciting though!
Tell the World
Cover A is my vote! I actually prefer the layout of B, however, the woman looks too "old" for your character. Cover A shows the uncertainty and mysteriousness of the plot in the girl's face, whereas B shows too much confidence, which does not exactly coincide with the story. So... A!
ReplyDeleteI would vote for A. It seems the most age appropriate cover for the teenage readers.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!

I vote A!! It's more intriguing and I think it looks better for a teen audience. Like other's have already pointed out, the girl in the picture for B looks older and I can't figure out what she's doing with her hands, it looks odd. I like seeing the lake in the background as well, it adds depth and looks more appealing. Definitely A! :)
ReplyDeleteA looks more intriguing, like something is wrong. B looks like she has everything she wants and life is fine. Pretty picture though in B.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like A the best.
ReplyDeleteAs some have said, the girl in cover B looks too old. I also don't find it as attention grabbing personally. If I saw A in a bookstore, I'd be much more likely to pick it up, being drawn by the colors and then the expression of the girl, wondering why she seems distraught. To me, B is a bit more plain and not quite as an attention-grabber.
How exciting that you're choosing a cover!
I like B. It looks classier. :)
ReplyDeleteCover B! It shows that despite the unpleasant circumstances that has happened in her life, she is still optimistic that God will see her through. Plus, it looks classier. :)
ReplyDeleteB. It looks classier. The purple hues of cover A make her look like she's been seriously hurt.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely A. Makes me want to pick up the book and see what it's about!
ReplyDeleteI say B
ReplyDeleteDefinitely A! At first glance you feel emotions. It pulls you in and makes you want to read and see what is going on in her life. B would be a great cover for a devotional. She seems content and happy.
ReplyDeleteI like A! It makes you want to read the book and find out what her story is all about. Can hardly wait to read it!!
ReplyDeleteB. Cuz I like it better! But for real that's why.
ReplyDeleteI like A!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know if it was too late to vote. ;) I like cover B.
