➙ About Me . . .

My name is Tessa, I am a twentysomething-year-old and passionate about Jesus, writing, and coffee. I began this blog in January 2010 as a way to share what I was learning on the writing craft, what God was teaching me, and to meet other Christians and writers as well.

In May 2010, I attended my first writing conference and met my soon-to-be-publisher {you can read the full story on my website here}. My debut novel, PURPLE MOON, was released fall 2013 by Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas and was a Selah Award finalist in YA Fiction and Debut Novel.

UNWRITTEN MELODY, my YA contemporary romance novel, was published November 2016 by Clean Reads and is a 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards Finalist. My upcoming teen devotional, COFFEE SHOP DEVOS, will release with Bethany House September 2018.

My passion for shedding light on clean entertainment and media for teens lead me to a career as a Jr. Agent at Hartline Literary Agency, YA Acquisitions Editor for Illuminate YA (LPC Books imprint), and Founder/Editor of PursueMagazine.net.

➙ Your Turn . . .

As I mentioned earlier, one of the reasons I created this blog was to have an opportunity to connect with others. This includes you!

So in the comments below, please introduce yourself by answering the following questions:
  1. Are you a writer? If so, what genre do you like to write?
  2. Do you own a blog?
  3. What are your hobbies?
  4. Favorite books?
  5. Favorite drink from Starbucks? =)
➙ Let's Stay Connected!

  1. Hello. Just read this, and am going to take a look at your challenge in a sec. :) Figured I'd answer your questions, since, after all, I did read your about page.

    1. I am a writer. Trying to write in all genres, but the ones I've currently written are: Science fiction, mystery, fantasy, adventure, dark mystery/fiction, and I'm working on apocalyptic and a fantasy/superpower/superhero type story.
    2. I do own a writing blog.
    3. Writing, Reading, Programming, Listening to Music, Making Music, Minecraft, Strategy Games, and oh, did I mention Writing and Reading?
    4. If I wrote them all here it would be over a hundred words, so I'll give you the first three from my list: The Ranger’s Apprentice, Rujub the Juggler, ALL the Rover Boys
    5. Sadly, I don't drink coffee. But, give me a cup of milo (kinda like coca but more of a sports/energy drink) made with water fresh out of the kettle anytime.

    ~Michael Hollingworth
Disce Ferenda Pati – Learn to endure what must be borne

    1. Nice to meet you, Michael! That's awesome that you like to write in so many different genres. The only genres I've ever been interested in writing are contemporary, dystopian, Christian supernatural (similar to Frank Peretti or Jim Rubart), and possibly mystery.

Oh, I've never heard of milo before! I'll have to remember that if I ever need a break from coffee (if that time ever comes...).

      Thanks for commenting!

  2. Oh wow, I have been silently following your blog for a while, I didn't even 'join' your blog and I only just got around to properly reading your "About" page now, and I was (as awful as this sounds) excited to find out that you were recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I have been living with Type 1 Diabetes since 2009 and stumbling upon others with it on the internet is unusual.

    1. I am a writer, mostly of fantasy.
    2. I blog at opalswirls.blogspot.com
    3. Writing, reading and blogging.
    4. Most books by Ally Carter, John Flanagan, Jodi Picoult, J. K. Rowling, To Kill a Mocking Bird and The Great Gatsby
    5. We don't have Starbucks in New Zealand, but I do anything with strong coffee in it.

    God Bless,
    Wild Horse

    1. Hey, Wild Horse! (Love the name, btw!)

Although I have only been diagnosed for three weeks, I also get “excited” to meet another diabetic.

For instance, my cousin, who is a year older than me, has been diagnosed for ten years. Having him to talk to at the beginning of my diagnosis was extremely helpful! It is comforting just to know that you’re not the only one who has to deal with this every day.

I’m glad that you’ve introduced yourself! I saw on your “about” page that you have a pump. What kind is it, and why do you prefer a pump over getting shots?

Aw, I feel bad that you don’t have Starbucks! But honestly, I’m not as crazy about their coffee as I used to be. I’m sure there are some better coffee shops in New Zealand. (It’s so awesome that you live there, btw! I would love to visit there one day.)

      Anyway, nice meeting you!

    2. My pump is an Animas Vibe, and I love it because it allows me to lead a relatively normal life. I can only take it off for an hour, so I don't really get to do much swimming, but otherwise it means that I can go all day without eating if I want to, and because I'm at high school, it means that I don't have to go to the sickbay every time I eat to have a shot.

I also enjoy that I don't have to stick myself with needles so often. I normally have to change my 'site' every three days, which is better than the four shots I was having everyday, but the needle is a lot bigger because it's inserting a tiny pipe into your chosen spot, and that took me a while to get over.

Over here in NZ the government funds them, so at the moment it is not costing my family anything to run, and I am a happier person because it gives me tighter control. The first few months as we sorted it out were horrible though.

If you ever visit NZ we should meet up and talk over coffee :)

    3. Yes! I will definitely let you know if I ever come to New Zealand. =)

I meet with my endocrinologist next week to discuss the possibility of getting a pump. From what I've heard, it sounds like my blood sugar would be much easier to manage with a pump rather than shots. I've been looking into trying the Omnipod since it's tubeless, waterproof, and comes with a built in glucose monitoring system.

Anyway, I'll be sure to let you know if and when I get one! =)

  3. Are you a writer? If so, what genre do you like to write?

I am indeed! I've published poems and short romance, but I'm currently writing my second novel, which I hope to publish. I write a lot of different genres, but I definitely LOVE to write anything for young adults. I'm still a young adult at twenty two, but I don't think I'll ever stop enjoying writing for teens.

    Do you own a blog?

You bet :) I own www.calledhis.com which is Christian lifestyle blog as well as book reviews and things about me and my writing

    What are your hobbies?

WRITING, reading, blogging, pinterest, spending time with my fiancee, long drives, and singing.

    Favorite books?

You're killing me, lol. Definitely Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson, Teeth by Hannah Moscowitz, the Harry Potter books, just read The Choice by Suzanne Fisher and LOVED it, LOTR and the Hobbit, Sarah Dessen....

Favorite drink from Starbucks? =) Pumpkin Spice Latte xD

    1. Hey, Stefanie!

Where have you published your writings? I would love to read them! I also don’t think I’d be able to stop writing for YA, either. (Although I would love to write middle-grace fiction some day!)

Sadly, I’ve never read any of the books that you’ve mentioned. I have read a couple of Sarah Dessen’s books, but didn’t get into them as much as I’d hoped.

Goodness, who doesn’t love a PSL from Starbucks? However, recently I’ve heard that it contains harmful ingredients that aren’t pumpkin at all, they only taste like pumpkin. Because of that, I’ve been making my PSLs at home and they are delicious! (And way less expensive, too!)

Thanks for commenting! I love your blog too, btw. =)

  4. Are you a writer? If so, what genre do you like to write? I write historical fiction! Though I'm only 13, and I'm *YET* to be published! ;)
Do you own a blog? Yep! Right over at forthebookish.com
What are your hobbies? I love reading and writing (of course!), but I also love biking, making cards, and playing my flute.
Favorite books? The Giver, The Book Thief, The Ballet Shoes, Kira-Kira, Ella Enchanted, Interrupted: a Life Beyond Words... the list goes on!
Favorite drink from Starbucks? =) The pumpkin spice latte during the fall! (Fall if my favorite season, too!) But during summer and spring, I normally opt for a chai tea latte (hot or iced!) and in the winter, a hot chocolate or peppermint mocha. I love Starbucks, lol :)

    1. Hey, Emily!

I absolutely love The Giver. I read it when I was in 8th grade and have read it almost every December since then. I’ve been really wanting to read The Book Thief, too.

Oh, I love pumpkin spice lattes. I’ve been starting to make them at home recently and they’re delicious! I’ve tried chai tea lattes before but I wasn’t too crazy about them. I guess I’m just too much of a coffee-girl. =) Peppermint mochas are my favorite latte to drink during the holiday season, too!

      Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

  5. Can I just say, before I answer the above questions, how thrilled I am that I've found a CHRISTIAN writer who was a TEEN WRITER who has a WRITING BLOG? While there may be more like you out there, I am so excited to have discovered your blog. It's so inspiring and encouraging, and I hope to become a regular participant in your Monday challenges.

Are you a writer? If so, what genre do you like to write?: I am most definitely a writer! I can't imagine myself without my God-given gift; I would feel SO empty. I enjoy writing across many genres, but as of now, I mainly write juvenile fiction/fantasy with Christian themes woven into them. While many of my stories are not directly Christian, my greatest passion is to reach non-believing children and provide them with wholesome yet fun reads that incorporate morals and teachings within the story. With this goal in mind, I am presently working through writing my first book.

Do you own a blog?: Sadly, no. The only reason I don't have a blog is because I have no clue as to how to design one. LOL I do know that I have an endless amount of thoughts to share.

What are your hobbies? WRITING. Reading. Drawing. Cleaning (?!). Doing school (??!!). Daydreaming. Bouncing on my trampoline. Studying homeopathic medicine and clean eating. Filming homemade movies with friends. Knitting. Quilting. Sewing. Cooking. Baking. Gardening. Listening to MUSIC. Trying to figure out how to balance out all my hobbies.

Favorite books? The Lord of the Rings–J.R.R.Tolkien Jane Eyre–Charlotte Bronte Agnes Grey–Anne Bronte Magyk, Flyte, Physik, Queste, Syrin, Darke, and Fyre–Angie Sage

Favorite drink from Starbucks? =) HAZELNUT latte with whipped cream on the top–YUM! And don't forget the caffeine. :)

    AnnaMarie (16 and homeschooled)

    1. Thanks for stopping by, AnnaMarie! It’s so nice to meet you. =)

I’m the same way: I can’t imagine not writing. That is one reason why I decided to pursue writing during high school rather than waiting. I couldn’t not not write. So I can definitely relate!

I think it’s awesome that you want to write fiction with Christian themes. One of my favorite authors is C.S. Lewis, and I love the way He wrote secular fiction but wove in morals and illustrations that lead to Christ. We need more authors that do the same.

You should start a blog! Don’t worry about the design for now. If you have thoughts you’d like to share, then do it! It’s a great outlet for expression, reaching others, and networking with other writers.

I don’t think I’ve met a teen who considers cleaning and doing school a hobby! =) That’s great, though. It seems like you’re very well-rounded. I wish I would have learned how to cook, sew, quilt, garden, and knit as a teen. (I learned how to sew when I was 10, but I didn’t stick with it. I did learn how to knit last year, too.)

Oh, I love Hazelnut lattes. That, along with mocha, are probably my favorites. =) Man, now I want to go to Starbucks!

  6. Hey Tessa!
I've sorta already told you a bit about me, but I am still going to answer the questions - It is fun!

1: I am a writer, but not published yet. I write in Christian YA Fiction, Espionage, mystery, stuff like that.
2: I do not own a blog, but I will probably get one once I get published.
3: I enjoy acting, reading, writing, babysitting, dancing, singing, and hanging out with my friends.
4: Oh... favorite books... haha this is going to be a long one... Divergent, Allegiant, Purple Moon, The Gallagher Girls series and the Heist Society Series (both by Ally Carter), Pride and Prejudice, Romeo and Juliet, The Deadly Reunions Trilogy, Lord of The Rings, The Hobbit, and I'm gonna stop there because otherwise this list will go on and on.
5: I don't go to Starbucks that much... Usually it is Caribou Coffee for me, but I guess at Starbucks it would be a Pumpkin Spice Latte or a Peppermint Mocha

    1. Hey, FlyGirl!

I love that Purple Moon is one of your favorite books. =) I also have a difficult time choosing my favorite books. Every time someone asks me that, I end up listing about five of them … haha.

I’ve had Caribou Coffee in the past and since then I have reallyyy wanted to visit their coffee shop. Unfortunately, there isn’t a location near where I live.

I love pumpkin spice lattes! However, the peppermint mochas are probably my favorite holiday drink at Starbucks. =)

Thanks for commenting! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

  7. Hi! Thought I'd go ahead and answer the questions. I'll try to keep it short...
    1. I'm a writer, as to what genre I write, the most specific I can get is YA - I've dabbled in pretty much every genre. My favorites are action-adventure and mystery. :D
    2. I actually have two blogs, my "life" blog at www.proverbs31teen.wordpress.com and my writing blog at www.theworldofthewriter.wordpress.com *shameless self promotion*
    3. As for hobbies, I've always got my horsey friends to back me up, and I enjoy crocheting occasionally, fangirling over the Avengers, and *of course* reading. And of course I enjoy the normal teenager-y things like music and youtube videos. And *cough* I'm an introvert?
    4. THE QUESTION OF DOOM. I'll go with the easy ones. The Chronicles of Narnia, all the Sherlock Holmes stories, Melanie Dickerson's fairytale remakes, The Crimson Cipher... I could go on...
    5. *clears throat* Water... I don't drink coffee. :D

    Signing off for now. -p31t

    1. I feel terrible that you don't drink coffee! You're really missing out, haha. =)

What kind of YouTube videos do you watch? My sister has one! Her channel name is GlamourWonderland.

Also, I love C.S. Lewis! He's always been one of my favorite Christian authors. =)

      Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Well, I feel sort of weird about doing this, but I found your blog through my mom, and since answering questions about myself is generally a fun activity, I thought I would do it.
    1. I am most definitely NOT a writer, unless you count writing letters, but all other forms of writing I hate. Sorry.
    2. Yes, I have a blog. It's mainly for card making. http://maggiesbutterflykisses.blogspot.com/
    3. I guess I have many hobbies. Card making, as I already mentioned (though I don't like to all that a hobby), anything with crafting and paper (especially if it's patterned paper!), doing stuff outside, singing (is that a hobby? I don't think so.), etc.
    4. Mysterious Benedict Society series, The Hobbit, Princess Academy, To Kill a Mocking bird...I don't read very often, so I don't have many favorites.
    5. I've only been to Starbucks once that I remember, and I got some minty drink, so I guess that would have to be my favorite. But water is my favorite drink of all time.
By the way, my favorite season is also Fall, for pretty much the same reasons you said, and the smell of Fall. Plus, I have bright red hair, and am of the opinion that Fall colors go really well with my hair. :)

    1. That's awesome that you like to make cards! I create art journals, which is sort of similar. My mom is an art teacher, so I grew up making all kinds of crafts, although I've taken a break for the past five years to focus on writing.

I agree: Water is awesome. But that's crazy you've only been to Starbucks once! You should at least try their mocha some day, haha. ;)

So funny that you mentioned that about your hair, because when fall comes around, I usually try to dye my hair an auburn-color. Which is strange, because I never try to dye it to match any other season! (That'd be kind of funny to have pastel-colored hair for spring, haha.) I do love your hair color, by the way. =)

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Maggie!

  9. Hey Tessa!
I just read your blog, and yes, I'm a writer. I recently finished writing my first book with my friend. I'm sending it to my uncle to get it published. It's called 'The Unwanted Runaway'. fiction of course. I could never write anything but fiction.
    I don't have a blog.
My hobbies are writing (duh), acting, reading, playing my violin and fiddling around with any other instrument I can get my hands on, listening to music, biking, and climbing trees. I also love to sketch.
My favorite books are the Bible, the Viking Quest Series, the Freedom Seekers series, Tom Sawyer, and I like your book too.
I like coffee, but I don't go to Starbucks and I hardly ever drink it anyway.
    ~Joanna Hawking~

    1. Hi, Joanna! I love the title of your book! It already sounds intriguing.

Writing, acting, and reading are my two favorite hobbies as well. That’s awesome that you can play the violin! I’ve always thought that was a beautiful instrument.

I’m glad to hear that you like my book! Thank you so much for leaving a comment; it was nice “meeting” you. =)

  10. Hi!
I am a writer. I've only ever written dystopian and contemporary.
I have a blog, but I hardly ever do anything on it. https://ifthesewingscouldflyblog.wordpress.com/
My hobbies are writing, reading, I take a pottery class, which is so much fun, and getting lost on Pinterest looking for ideas.
My favorite books are All the Bright Places, The Hunger Games series, and I am the Messenger.
And I hardly ever go to Starbucks, but my favorite coffee drink would be a turtle latte that my church makes. So yummy!

    1. Dystopian and contemporary are my top two favorite genres. =) I’ve never written dystopian, however I have had a book idea since I was in middle school. Maybe some day I’ll start writing it!

Ooh I’ve always wanted to take a pottery class. Have you ever made a mug? That would be so much fun. I’m jealous … haha!

I’ve never tried a turtle latte, but it sounds interesting! Do you know what flavors they use for it?

      Thanks for commenting, Morgan! =)

  11. 1.Are you a writer? If so, what genre do you like to write? Yes! My favorite genre to write and read is fantasy.
2.Do you own a blog? No, but it's something I wouldn't mind doing!
3.What are your hobbies? Writing (of course), reading, drawing, horseback riding, music (listening to it and dreaming about being able to play it, haha)
4.Favorite books? Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, Anomaly trilogy by Krista McGee, Melanie Dickerson's fairytale retellings, Golden Filly and High Hurdles collections by Lauraine Snelling, Whinnies on the Wind series by Angela Dorsey (though I'm a few books behind), Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix
5.Favorite drink from Starbucks? =) I've never actually been to Starbucks, but I get their Frappucinos from the grocery store frequently, and my favorite is vanilla. Yum. 8D

    1. Hi, Emily! Nice name, btw. ;)

That's so cool that you're a horseback rider. I've been a few times in my life and loved it! It was a little scary, though. Haha =p What kind of music do you listen to?

I, too, love C.S. Lewis and Krista McGee. I used to drink those Starbucks frappucinos all the time! (Before I found out that I'm allergic to dairy.) They're perfect for road trips. =)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

    2. I listen to some pop and country, and I'm also a sucker for Disney music (the movies and the TV shows). Also Christian music-- Southern gospel is my favorite. :)

  12. Hi Tessa,
I just found your blog and it's really cool! My name is Rebekah and I've been trying to find other Christian bloggers to connect with :)
    To answer the questions:
    1. Sort of... I mostly journal and blog
    2. Yes my website/blog is www.moreradiance.com
    3. Favorite hobbies would be reading, dreaming, book shopping and taking part in any current obsession :)
    4. I have a hard time choosing favorites! Probably, October Baby and A Hopeful Heart
    5. Hmmm... probably the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frap

    1. Hi, Rebekah,

Thank you so much for introducing yourself! I'm going to have to check out your blog as well. =)

I love that you included dreaming as apart of your hobbies! Do you mean daydreaming, "night" dreaming, or dreaming about the future? Oh, book shopping is definitely an obsession of mine as well. Clothes shopping has never been my thing, though!

October Baby is one of my favorite movies as well. I've never heard of A Hopeful Heart, but I'll have to check it out.

Thanks again for leaving a comment!

  13. Hi Tessa! I’m so glad to have found your blog! You sound like a sweet person. 
    1) I am a writer! I LOVE writing historical fiction – all sorts of dates. I always write Christian novels.
    2) I do have a blog at www.foreveraspiringwriter.wordpress.com
    3) Just some of my hobbies are singing, writing novels and songs, reading, and playing guitar!
    4) I love the book of Proverbs. Also, “Beautiful in God’s Eyes for Young Women” written by Elizabeth George.
    5) I deliberately stay away from coffee since I know it’s so addictive! :D I do have the occasional sip, though… I love hot chocolate! 

    1. Aw thank you, Sarah! I'm so happy you found my blog also. =)

That's really cool that you can write historical fiction. I do love learning history, but I've never been able to really connect with a historical novel that well. However, ironically enough, my favorite book is "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. Haha ;)

The book of Proverbs is probably my third favorite book in the Bible. My first is Psalms and Romans. <3

I very much admire you for staying away from coffee! I limit myself to one cup a day for the same reason -- and often, I'll drink half caffeinated and half decaf. Any time I have to go without coffee, it's not a pretty sight! That's the worst thing about drinking coffee. (Probably the only bad thing there is about it, too ... Haha!)

  14. Hi,
I am a writer, just not published yet. I have a blog http://theartofwritingforhim.blogspot.com/ and I blog waaaayyyy too much. :D I like to read and write, and drink coffee. My favorite drink is...coffee, and I haven't been to Starbucks, but I have been to the little one in a bookstore where I get the Italian Cream Soda.

    1. woops, I totally read "books" as "coffee"...is that bad? Sorry, my favorite books are Dare and Deny by Tricia Mingerink, and The Out of Time books by Nadine Brandes.

    2. Hi, Rachael!

I don't think it's possible to blog TOO much ... haha =) It's never too early to begin building your readership! I began this blog when I was 16, and I'm very glad that I did. Most of my fiction readers have come from my audience on Christ is Write.

Oh, if you love coffee, you should definitely try Starbucks some time! They have a variety of drinks that I'm sure you'll fall in love with. =)

      God bless!

  15. Hi, Tessa! I've been reading your blog for awhile, but I don't think I ever got around to commenting on this page (though perhaps I did and I simply forgot. I'm good at forgetting). So I thought I might as well do it now!

    1. I am a writer, though I'm not published yet (I hope to be published someday), and I like to write fantasy. I'll write a bit in other genres now and then, but fantasy is what I really love.

    2. Not a public one :).

    3. Drawing and Painting. Blogging. Horseback riding. Singing. Playing violin. Reading and writing (obviously).

    4. I have WAY too many favorite books :D. Some of them are the 'Threshold' series by Christa Kinde, The Hobbit, The Chronicles Of Narnia, the 'Tales Of Goldstone Woods' series by Anne Elisabeth Stengl, and many, many (many) others.

    5. I actually have never been to Starbucks! I'm not really the coffee kind of gal.

Your blog is wonderful Tessa, I love how you have used your gift of writing for God! Keep on being awesome :).

    1. Hi, Savannah! Thanks for commenting!

That’s awesome that you write fantasy. Personally, the only fantasy I’ve enjoyed is The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Have you heard of Mary Weber? She’s a YA fantasy author, and her books have received really good reviews. I might consider reading the first of her series, Storm of Siren, some time this year!

Wow! It’s hard to believe that you’ve never been to Starbucks. Although I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that! Trust me: You’ll be saving a lot of money if you don’t become a coffee-drinker. (Yes, I am speaking from personal experience. Haha)

Thank you so much for the encouragement, Savannah! It’s always good to hear that people are affected by the posts I write.

      Have a great day! =D

    2. Chronicles Of Narnia is one of the best fantasy series, I've re-read most of the books in it, and still love them :).

Yes, I have read Mary Weber's 'Storm Siren' and enjoyed it, but it's not one of my favorite books. My younger sister (Skylar) also read it, but neither of us read the second book, despite the massive cliffhanger on the first book. The fact that the second book wasn't available at our library may have been to blame for this :).

I've actually never even tried coffee! However, my dad likes to drink it, and I absolutely LOVE the smell of it :D.

You're welcome! I always look forward to reading your posts :).

    3. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like the smell of coffee! If I were you, I’d hold off on trying coffee for a long time. Because who knows? Once you start, you might not be able to stop … ;)

  16. Hey, Tessa! Your blog is wonderful. I'm thinking of participating in your Monday's Minute Challenge, but only if I can figure out something to write from the prompts. xP

I'm Faith, and yes, I am a writer. I write fantasy and Science-fiction, mostly. I also write blog posts, but that's completely different. :-P My blog is https://storyoffire.wordpress.com/ .
My hobbies are... Well, writing, of course, and also drawing realism art.
I have too many favorite books to list them all, but my two favorite books are in the same series. The first is A Time to Die, and the second is A Time to Speak. They're by Nadine Brandes, in the Out of Time series.
My favorite drink from Starbucks... Hmm...
Well, to be honest, I absolutely love coffee... But the coffee we make at home is better than Starbucks coffee. xP I like their Frappuccinos, though. But give me some home-ground, home-brewed coffee with a (large) splash of half-and-half, and some sugar, and I'll be happy!

    1. Hi, Faith! Great "seeing" you here! =D

I think it’s awesome that you write and draw. My mom’s an artist and an art teacher, so I’ve always had an appreciate for that as well. =) What genre does the Out of Time series fall under? I’ll have to check that out!

Lol! I definitely don’t think you should feel guilty for enjoying coffee at home more than Starbucks. =p Do you have a favorite blend of coffee to make at home?

      Thanks for commenting!

    2. Great "seeing" you, as well! xP

Out of Time is Christian Dystopian. It's pretty epic. xP Here's the link to the book page: http://nadinebrandes.com/books/a-time-to-die/

We get whole bean Arabica, Medium-Dark roast. We've found the flavor is much better when we grind it ourselves. :-) The brand we get is Pablo's Pride.

    3. Oh yay! I’ll have to look into that! Dystopian is my second favorite genre (contemporary being the first).

Yumm, that coffee blend sounds amazing. I agree; coffee seems to stay fresher longer when I buy whole beans as apposed to already ground.

      Thanks for the recommendations! =)

    4. Those books are sooooo good! Definitely my favorite dystopian.

  17. 1) I am a writer and starting writing when I was around ten years old. I like to write Teen Fiction and Fantasy but enjoy to go out of my genres. My current project I can only describe as a Magical Realism.
    2) I'm working on a blog that I can just write down things I learn from writing. Right now it is private, that might change in the future.
    3) My hobbies are reading, writing, making earrings, art and daydreaming
    4) I can't choose one. I like the Percy Jackson and Divergent series.
    5) I really don't know. I've been to Starbucks, like five times in my life. I like tea and hot chocolate. I' not a coffee person though.

    1. Hi, Nicky!

Magical realism—that sounds really interesting! Is that a real genre, or did you make it up?

That’s awesome that you make earrings! I like to create necklaces occasionally also. My mom is an art teacher, so I grew up appreciating arts and crafts. (Fun fact: My mom's the reason I chose to make the main character in Purple Moon, Selena, an artist as well. =) )

Starbucks offers tea and hot chocolate, too. Have you tried a drink from there yet? (I’m sitting in Starbucks right now, actually. Haha =) )

God bless, and thanks for commenting!
